Women In Position, Need Power.

Even after years of strengthening the Magna Carta of Woman (R.A. 9710), women political and leadership participation still remains to be a problem here in the Philippines, and one of the reasons why more men are hired in firms and companies is because they do not offer maternal benefits in cases of pregnancy and the like. Based from the 16th Congress Fast Facts, a ratio of 6 women and 18 men are in position as senators, while 64 women and 170 men are in position as district representatives. It's a sad truth that despite the global population of women is 58%, only a few or small portion of them are being offered good careers--- careers that still experience injustice. Feminists in the Philippines or more known as the "Gabriela" movement still fight for women rights and opportunities to seek nothing more but equality. Imagine being in the place of females; after being granted education or possessing a hardworking spirit, it seems as if only you see your potential and capability-- how will you respond to this?
